Canada’s Oceans Supercluster (OSC) has signed an agreement to provide $1.8 million in support to a consortium project led by CompuSult, Ltd. Spiri Robotics is providing hardware and software to assist the autonomous robots involved in the project in cooperation. The agreement supports the development of autonomous aerial and underwater vehicles and machine learning to combine and interpret data taken by a team of robots in the field. The participants are CompuSult (lead), Spiri Robotics, Strobeltek, PicSea, and they are supported by subcontractors including Jacobs UK. Tests will take place at the Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE) in Halifax, NS, and at The Launch (a Memorial University of Newfoundland facility) in Holyrood, NL.
