Canada’s Oceans Supercluster (OSC) has signed an agreement to provide $1.8 million in support to a consortium project led by CompuSult, Ltd. The funding is for a project on coastal monitoring by autonomous systems. Spiri Robotics is providing hardware and software to enable the robots involved to cooperate. The agreement supports the development of autonomous aerial and underwater vehicles and machine learning to combine and interpret data taken by a team of robots in the field. The participants are CompuSult (lead), Spiri Robotics, Strobeltek, and PicSea. Tests will take place at the Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE) in Halifax, NS, and at The Launch (a Memorial University of Newfoundland facility) in Holyrood, NL.
