Canada Procures Spiri RASP for Testing

Published on: May 21, 2024

Canada has entered into a $2.3 million contract with Spiri Robotics to test our Remote Autonomous Systems Position (RASP) in a simulated operational setting. Spiri’s innovation qualified for funding under the Innovative Solutions Canada program. The tests will focus on RASP capabilities in signals and sensor intelligence as well as autonomous drones to cover Canada’s vast frontiers over land and water. The tests will take place between May 2024 and April 2025.

RASP is an autonomous robotic cell configured to support uncrewed aerial systems – in a variety of forms and configurations – and to provide computational power, communications, and signals capabilities as a remote, forward, or isolated base of operations. The innovation provides a base for surveillance, reconnaissance, and signals intelligence, and is packaged as a 20 ft. intermodal cargo container that is mobile, networked, and does not require a crew on site.
