We offer public and private schools, community colleges, and universities the same most-preferred customer prices we offer government.

For safety and regulatory reasons, all Spiri robots above 250 g (about 8.8 oz) in weight must be registered to a Spiri user account prior to use.

We provide free and open source resources to the public as a way to support research and understanding of robotics. By registering for a free user account at Spiri, you may have access to additional free and open source resources. For commercial and government use, we charge licensing fees.

We also engage in collaborative research and development with academic institutions and laboratories. We encourage researchers to come forward and tell us how we may be able to help.

Our plan is to have all such orders shipped by the end of March, 2025. We are using the latest information we have on file from Kickstarter backers and other pre-order customers to inform them of shipping times. If your contact information has changed or you have a specific question about your order, please contact us through the Contact page of this website:

A standard configured Spiri Mu will fly for 21 minutes to a maximum range of about 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) under ideal operating conditions. With an extra battery pack, this increases by 50%.

A standard configured Spiri Mu will be unable to lift off the ground above 8,000 m in elevation (about 26,000 feet).

We consider 3,000 m in elevation (about 10,000 feet) as the limit for safe operations -- at that elevation, the propellers will operate at about 70% of their sea level performance.

In Canada and the United States, the regulatory limit is 120 m (or 400 feet). This varies by country, so it is very important for you to seek that information out for the country you are flying in.

The regulations and limitations on flying drones vary by country, and it is very important for you to inform yourself on these matters for the country where you are flying.

In Canada and the United States, you may only fly over land with permission of the land owner. You may not fly within 7 km (about 5 miles) or an airport or aerodrome. You may not fly directly over people or roads. You may not fly a drone on full autopilot unless you are able to see it and take control. You may not fly at night or in low visibility. You must have at least a basic operator's license and your drone must be registered with the government.

Drones weighing less that 250 g are exempt from the requirement to register. To obtain exemptions to other restrictions and limitations, you may apply to your aviation regulator. In Canada, this means getting a Special Flight Operations Certificate from Transport Canada. In the United States, it is a Section 107 Waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Spiri can support your visa application by making a job offer, and in rare cases by nominating you under specific immigration programs, but we cannot do it for you, nor can we provide job candidates with legal advice on immigration.

In our experience, the most successful work immigrations have been when the immigrant is already resident in the country, for example as a student.

Spiri Robotics is an equal opportunity employer. No career seeker is ruled out based only on country of origin or prior citizenship. Any job offer, however, will be provisional until you have obtained a work permit or visa and are legally entitled to work in the country.

Some export restrictions apply to some of our products. We have a "know your customer" policy at Spiri Robotics, and will ask prospective customers for information, for example, about the beneficial ownership group of a corporate customer. We deal with these matters on a case by case basis, and you may initiate the process with us by using our Contact form on this website:

We provide a free and open source software development kit (SDK) and application programming interface (API) to enable independent developers to make software that will run on our products. We provide a container template and instructions so that the software you develop will plug in to our robots. These tools are available to users with a free user account at Spiri.

Spiri has both open and closed source software, with the vast majority open. All the license fees for the software that runs our products are included in the product price. The open source portion of that software is also free to read and derive new software from. Our software is not, however, free for government or industrial use, or to be re-sold. People or organizations seeking to put software based on our source may contact us to get a license through our Contact form on this website:

The terms of our open source software license are found here:
