Our team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of UAV technology, and we are looking for a skilled and driven IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our dynamic team.

About You:

As an IT Infrastructure Specialist at Spiri Robotics, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, optimization, and security of our IT infrastructure. You will work with cloud services, networking systems, data storage, and servers to ensure that all systems operate smoothly, securely, and efficiently. You’ll also play a key role in providing technical support to internal teams, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the integrity of our IT systems to support the development of our autonomous UAV technology. A key aspect of this role will be ensuring compliance with Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and U.S. Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements, particularly those set forth by NIST standards.

Responsibilities:

IT Infrastructure Management:
* Maintain, support, and optimize the company’s network, servers, cloud services, and data storage systems.
* Ensure system availability, security, and performance across the organization.

Cloud and Virtualization Support:
* Assist with managing cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualized environments. Help provision and maintain cloud resources to meet engineering and operational needs.

Networking & Connectivity:
* Support and monitor internal local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and VPN solutions. Ensure reliable and secure communication between departments and external partners.

Cybersecurity & Compliance:
* Implement and maintain security protocols in line with Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. CUI standards, and NIST SP 800-171 requirements.
* Ensure that Spiri Robotics’ IT environment complies with relevant security regulations, assist in system audits, and conduct vulnerability assessments.
* Maintain encryption, firewalls, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.

System Administration:
* Administer Windows, Linux, and macOS systems.
* Perform regular updates, patches, and system monitoring to ensure high availability and performance of internal systems.

Backup & Disaster Recovery:
* Oversee data backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to ensure that critical data is protected, retrievable, and secure.

Technical Support:
* Provide hands-on support for internal users, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network configurations.
* Handle IT support tickets efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Documentation & Reporting:
* Maintain detailed documentation of IT infrastructure, system configurations, processes, and procedures.
* Create and update internal guides and best practices to ensure a smooth operational flow.

Vendor & Hardware Management:
* Assist with managing relationships with external IT vendors and suppliers.
* Oversee procurement and configuration of IT hardware to meet company needs.

Collaboration:
* Work closely with engineering, R&D, and other internal teams to understand their IT requirements and provide tailored solutions.
* Ensure IT infrastructure is scalable and flexible enough to support the development of innovative drone technology.

Qualifications:

Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:
* At least 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or a similar technical support role, preferably within a technology-driven or engineering-focused environment.

Technical Expertise:
* Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
Strong experience with networking technologies (DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, firewalls, etc.).
* Knowledge of system administration for Windows, Linux, and macOS systems.
* Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
* Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
* Basic scripting/automation knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible) is a plus.
Compliance Knowledge:

* Proficiency in Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and U.S. Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements.

* In-depth understanding of NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity standards, including protecting sensitive data, access control, incident reporting, and system integrity.
* Experience in applying these standards in real-world settings is a must.

Problem-Solving & Technical Support:
* Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues related to hardware, software, network configurations, and security incidents.
* Ability to provide clear, actionable support to non-technical staff.

Communication Skills:
* Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical team members.
* Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.

Additional Skills:

* Detail-oriented, with a focus on ensuring secure and efficient IT systems.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of drone technology and embedded systems is a bonus.
