Overboard Detection & Spotting
Overview
Overboard Detection & Spotting (ODS) is a systems integration of our autonomous drones with vessel overboard detection and spotting procedures.
It accelerates the detection and location of overboard personnel and provides delivery of a personal flotation device (PFD) and a beacon.
Each Spiri Mu is outfitted based on operational conditions and role. They work as a flock without need for human intervention. The system may be ship- or shore-based
Detect & Locate
ODS calculates a search pattern for the flock upon detection of an overboard event, taking into account vessel movement. The flock finds and confirms the rescue location using onboard sensors and intelligence.
Deliver & Spot
Upon confirmation of the rescue location, a Spiri Mu with a Rescue Module is sent to deliver a PFD and beacon to the person overboard. It also provides a spotlight for the rescuers.
At the Ready
Spiri ODS is continually primed for activation. It can engage without any delay or need for manual input.
